تصدرت مجموعة الصباح الآثارية القاعة المخصصة لمشاركة المؤسسات الثقافية في العالم وذلك تخليدا لذكرى مؤسسها المرحوم الشيخ ناصر صباح الأحمد الجابر الصباح. وتقوم هيئة بينالي الدرعية بتنظيم جولات حول المعارض المشاركة يقوم بها نخبة من خبراء الفن الإسلامي.
What if you were an object of art? This was the question asked to the public who attended Friday’s celebration of the International Museum Day at the Amricani Cultural Centre. The activities were organised by team of volunteers and the staff of Dar al-Athar. Each person used his/her imagination to answer the question. It was a lively and interactive atmosphere with lots of blooming talents and creativity

فريدة سلطان هي مديرة معرض سلطان الفني، وعضو ومؤسس لمدرسة بيان ثنائية اللغة وبيت السدو. في عام 2013 حصلت على جائزة الكويت الأولى للمرأة العربية في فئة الفنون، وفي عام 2014 حصلت على جائزة من قبل هيئة تشجيع الاستثمار المباشر في دولة الكويت لمسابقة تصميم الشعار.
Sabina Antonini de Margret
Dr Sabina Antonini de Margret is currently working on a book and exhibition presenting South Arabian holdings in The al-Sabah Collection. She is a specialist in South Arabian history and, since 1984, has taken part in archaeological surveys and excavations in Yemen. She has contributed to archaeological campaigns in Saudi Arabia (Najran) and Ethiopia (Tigray) in collaboration with a French Archaeological Mission. She is the author of numerous monographs and articles on South Arabian Archaeology and Art History
South Arabian Works in The al-Sabah Collection
South Arabian works in The al-Sabah Collection are made of limestone, alabaster, bronze, silver and gold, and cover a period ranging from the Bronze Age (3rd millennium BCE) to the 3rd century CE. These objects will be the subject of this lecture. The major contribution that these objects have made is not only to enrich our understanding of South Arabian figurative production and the craftsmen responsible for it. The objects also inform us on the practices and customs of South Arabians in their private and public lives, together with their social and economic circumstances, but also to broaden our knowledge of the contacts that existed with the countries of the region, and the artistic influences that derived from them

“One Small Visit” with Dr Anisha Abraham.
This is a story of Anisha’s family and their visit with Astronaut Neil Armstrong’s family, shortly after his historic moon walk.
One Small Visit is an award-winning short film (30 minutes) that tells the “true story of an immigrant Indian family who unexpectedly passes through the tiny Ohio hometown of Neil Armstrong in the wake of the ’69 moon landing and the civil rights movement and ends up on the Armstrong’s doorstep.” Dr Anisha Abraham, just months old during the visit, will attend and answer questions after the showing.
بمناسبة المعرض الذي سيقام في جدة في يناير2023 بإشراف بينالي الدرعية، يقوم السيد كولين موريس مع فريق من متخصصي تصنيع حوامل العرض بزيارة دار الاثار الاسلامية اليوم للاطلاع على التحف المشاركة في معرض “أول بيت” الذي يحكي قصة الكعبة المشرفة تاريخيا وحاضرا.
The DAI sent a cultural expedition to Jeddah, KSA 8 – 9 March to attend the Islamic Art Biennale. Themed Hawwal Bayt – First House, the biennale was the first of its kind and the most significant showcase of contemporary Islamic art (including works of young Kuwaiti artists) and historical artefacts held in the region. Parallel to Hawwal Bayt, the Biennale also recognised the 40th anniversary of the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah/The al-Sabah Collections and its patron Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah with a special exhibition featuring 130 objects from The al-Sabah Collection
The entire experience was perfectly curated by a team of scholars/experts and the DAI delegation considered the visit “a true honour”
حل وفد من مدينة هانغتشو الصينية، المنظمة لدورة الألعاب الآسيوية لهذه السنة، برئاسة السيد مياو تشنغ تشاو لدى مركز الأمريكاني الثقافي اليوم. أُخِذ الوفد في جولة بمعارض ومرافق المركز، ثم تمت مناقشة العلاقات الدولية والتبادل الثقافي والفني المسبق، والتعرف على تاريخ جمهورية الصين الشعبية وعلاقاتها مع البلدان الأخرى في التصدير والاستيراد. أبدى الوفد اعجابه بالتحف الفنية في المعرض كونه يجمع بلدان عدة في مكان واحد.
